Consistently good for practice

I've used Edabit a few times now for different languages. This time around I was focusing on Ruby challenges. Just like my previous experiences with JavaScript and Python, the content was reliable. The platform is consistent in how it presents problems and gives feedback, which I appreciate. I keep coming back because it's a no-fuss way to get some focused coding practice in. It's always been a smooth experience, and this one was no different.

Smooth experience, helpful exercises

I signed up for the JavaScript challenges and found the whole process pretty straightforward. Ordering the subscription was easy through their website, no hidden fees or anything. The challenges themselves are well-structured, starting simple and building up. I had a question about a specific problem and used their support contact form; they got back to me within a day with a clear explanation. Delivery is instant, obviously, since it's a digital service. The quality of the exercises feels high, and they cover a good range of topics. It's a solid platform if you're looking for practical coding practice.

Learned a lot with the challenges

I decided to try out the C# challenges last week. It was pretty cool, not too hard to get started. I liked that the problems were short and to the point. It helped me practice without getting overwhelmed. The site was easy to navigate and I didn't run into any issues. Overall, a good way to spend some time coding.

Good value for learning Java

I was looking for something to brush up on my Java skills without breaking the bank. Edabit's annual plan was a solid deal, especially compared to the monthly cost. I got a good discount during their Black Friday sale, which was a nice bonus. The automated code grading is super helpful for instant feedback. It felt like I got my money's worth for sure.

What's the deal with their annual subscription? Is it a lot cheaper than paying monthly?

E Emma R. 2 days ago
Oh yeah, definitely. The annual plan is way cheaper, like 30-40% less than if you pay month to month. Worth it if you're serious.

It's a significant discount. I think it's usually around 20-50% off compared to monthly. It's their main way to get people to commit for a year.

are there any promo codes floating around for Edabit? Or is it all through their site discounts?

J Josh 2 weeks ago
Most of their discounts are just directly on the pricing page, especially for annual plans. Actual promo codes are pretty rare.

I've only ever seen codes for like, specific partner referrals or sometimes during a holiday email blast. Don't usually find them just floating around.

Hey, wondering if anyone knows if Edabit is good for absolute beginners? Like, never coded before good?

A Andrew Davis 3 days ago
Yeah, totally. I started with JavaScript there and it breaks things down into really small steps. Much easier to digest than some other sites.

It's pretty good, but you might still want a basic intro to programming concepts somewhere else first, just to get the jargon down. Then Edabit is great for practice.

I'm a student, do they offer a student discount?

J John Jones 1 month ago
Yeah, they do! I remember seeing a student discount option somewhere on their site, or at least they used to. Worth checking their FAQ.

They definitely have one. You usually have to verify your student status through something like SheerID or similar. It's a pretty good deal too.

Do they support C++? Or is it mostly JavaScript and Python focused?

P Patricia Scott 1 month ago
They do! I've seen C++ challenges on there. They have a decent range of languages actually, not just the big two.

M Mary Roberts 1 month ago
Yep, C++ is supported. You can filter by language, so it's easy to find challenges for it.

Is it true they offer lifetime access sometimes? Or is that just a rumor?

R Ryan Gomez 2 weeks ago
They used to! I snagged a lifetime deal a couple of years ago during a Black Friday sale. Not sure if they still do them regularly though.

M Mary Allen 2 weeks ago
I haven't seen a lifetime deal advertised recently, but they do pop up occasionally, usually around big holiday sales. Keep an eye out then!

Anyone know how Edabit compares to Codecademy? I've used Codecademy before but looking for something more challenge-based.

K Karen R. 3 weeks ago
Edabit is much more about direct coding challenges, less hand-holding than Codecademy. If you want to just practice solving problems, Edabit is better for that.

R Richard N. 3 weeks ago
Codecademy is good for learning syntax, but Edabit really forces you to apply it with those bite-sized problems. I found it helped me build confidence faster.

Thinking of signing up for the Pro version. Does Edabit offer refunds if I decide it's not for me after a week or two?

S Susan Williams 4 weeks ago
I think they do, but it's usually within a pretty short window. You'd have to check their policy page for the exact terms, but I remember seeing something about it.

J Jeff Johnson 3 weeks ago
Yeah, they definitely have a refund policy. I had to cancel once and it was pretty straightforward, just had to do it within their specified timeframe.
